Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting 2024

Planning is well underway for the forth series of exhibitions across north, south, mid and west Wales, to celebrate Welsh contemporary painting, from July 2024. The number of venues participating has increased each year since the 'celebration' began in 2017.

As in previous years the aim is to give exhibition space to some of Wales’s most significant painters, those who are up and coming and high-quality work from students in colleges and/or schools. The range of artists will increase along with the numbers, as the focus is broadened to include objects including painted ceramics, sculpture and more besides. Alongside the exhibitions will be a series of community events for people of all ages.

As a precursor to the main events in 2024/2025, a series of images by artists featured in each gallery have been added to each gallery page on this site, giving a taster of what is to come.

The Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting is managed by a Planning Group made up of each participating venue (apart from the Futures Galley).
